Found myself in Oceanside last Sunday after giving a couple photography lessons to a local master orchid grower. I decided it was a good day to get the 400mm telephoto out and see about sea birds at the pier. The fairly calm pelicans were a treat, much more interesting than the local gulls. All shot with the 7DII, F 5.6 exposure at 1/1500 or faster. ISO 400. Aperture priority to keep the speed up and shallow up the depth of field.
